Gorgas Memorial Library Serving WRAIR/NMRC

The Gorgas Memorial Library's mission is to support WRAIR and NMRC researcher's efforts to perform innovative and accountable research in support of the Warfighter. A key goal is to make relevant literature resources available by providing timely access to biomedical information regardless of original format or location. GML resources and services are available to scientists and staff located in Silver Spring and in the associated overseas labs.

Army Medicine Database	AMEDD Virtual Library Selected Databases
E-Books	Army Medicine E-textbooks collection includes Plotkin's Vaccines, Mandell's Principles & Practice in Infectious Diseases, and Nelson Textbook of Pediatrics.
GIDEON	Global Infectious Disease & Epidemiology Network
MRMC E-Portal	MRMC electronic collection, including journals. Requires an Athens account; register online at MRMC E-Portal (Page under construction)
PubMed	National Library of Medicine's medical article search interface
REAXYS	Chemical reaction database. For best results when using MarvinSketch use Mozilla Firefox 2/3 with Java 1.5 or later.
SciFinder	Chemistry structure and patent database. To obtain a username see Library staff.
Web of Science	Science and social science citation index- includes conference proceedings and links to full text

Services

Loansome Doc	Enables customers to order articles directly from PubMed. If an item is not available in PubMed see Interlibrary Loan below for further options.
Web of Science	Serves basic researchers with workflow optimization tools. Serves administrators with publication impact data.
EndNote / EndNote Web	The library offers access through the Web of Science Portal for saving and citing references. The latest release of the software version of EndNote is also available - contact the Enterprise Service Desk to have it downloaded to your computer.
Bibliometrics	The library offers bibliometrics services. These products including Research Impact Analyses, Publication Strategies, and Publication Lists can be customized per division. For more information see library staff.

General Resources

InterLibrary Loan:

If an item you need is not available in print or electronically request the document via Loansome Doc or use the
Article Request Form or the Book Request Form .

Literature Searches:

Expert searches are provided upon request to meet individual needs/requirements to include Animal Use Protocols. Librarians perform Dialog, BRD, DTIC, PubMed, FEDRIP, Agricola and other database searches upon request. Search request forms are available in the Library. Literature search requests also may be submitted online using this Search Request form .

Library Patron Registration:

To register as a library patron, please submit the Online Patron Registration Form . Once established, you can use this account to sign in and check out library resources, review your account status online, renew materials, and set up preferences and alerts in GML OneSearch .

Athens Account Registration:

Register for an Athens account at https://register.athensams.net/uam to have full access to the resources available via the MRMC E-Portal .

WRAIR Index of Publications:

Complied by the Gorgas Memorial Library, this annual publication records and highlights WRAIR research published in the journal, book and technical report literature, as well as conference and meeting abstracts and patents. Click here to download PDF versions of the annual bibliography (available for the years 1990 to present and including selected earlier years).

We are pleased to announce a new information discovery platform is now available to the WRAIR/NMRC community. GML OneSearch provides a new user experience by streamlining the search process so that users find information easily and get it wherever they are. Check it out!
EndNote X5 is available to download. Contact the Enterprise Service Desk to have it installed on your computer.
GML now offers the new USAMRMC e-portal for access to electronic journals previously accessed through the USU ER. This new e-portal is available at www.tdnet.com/amrmc . In order to access all of the electronic journals, please register for an Athens account at https://register.athensams.net/uam
